THE TECHNICAL STUFF

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?
HOW ARE THE FILMS PROCESSED AND PRINTED?

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?

It is almost impossible to heave a medium format camera around all day long to capture the range of candid shots I am offering so I use a couple of professional 35mm system cameras with the best marque optics covering a wide focal range, backed up by hammerhead flashguns.  I also have a third camera body in case of mechanical breakdown and a tripod for low-level light.

This system is much more flexible and versatile in use than medium format and provides the essential tools to enable me to work fast and effectively over all possible shooting scenarios.

HOW ARE THE FILMS PROCESSED AND PRINTED?

I deliver the films personally to my printer, who serves many professional and newspaper photographers.  He produces the highest quality digital machine prints possible and makes manual adjustments to the mean exposure of each negative, as necessary, as a film is printed.  I have a long-standing arrangement with him, resulting in trust and confidence as well as a discount on 9" x 6" prints, which enables me to be competitive at this large print size.

Each negative is printed full-frame (no cropping) to 9" x 6" size.  I collect the prints myself and index each print on the back with a film/negative number.  The prints are not marked with any kind of identification, such as a logo or a copyright notice. They are kept pristine.  The prints are then sorted, packed up and delivered personally to you.  All these processing, printing and travel costs are included in my fee.
